Finally, I have made a blog about my conservation operation. I have posted this post on many different sites, so here goes! ^^ :

ALEXANDRIA’S CONSERVATION OPERATION

Hey everyone! I was thinking… I wanted to help the Earth in some way while I’m playing online . I realized that I spend a lot of time online, and I rarely spend any time or effort on saving my planet… I have to have a light on while on my computer, or my sight will go wrong… I play on Gaiaonilne a lot, too!

I have to leave my computer on when I’m bidding in Gaia auctions… I don’t spend enough time working *cough e-baying cough*, so I don’t have the money for Gaia cash, thus leading to hours of wasted energy earning gold to someday achieve 200,000… Etc. Well, here’s a little Journal entry that I will soon turn into a forum. I hope it will be popular among all, because this stuff really matters.

 

 

 

I’ve always been one to love our planet. In the summer, I take long walks. Not along the beach, but along the road. That’s when I always realize what we DID to our planet. The planet Earth does not belong to us, we belong to Earth, and we have no place to take it over like the nightmares we have of other species. I realize the pollution, and the debate of global warming… Well, whether you like it or not, the greenhouse affect IS true. The greenhouse affect– or the rise of CFCs and Carbon Dioxide to destroying our Ozone and allowing UV rays (harmful to human rays from the sun) into our atmosphere, along with the constant warming of our planet– is something huge to think about. My light in my bedroom is on right now. Watch this.

There are MANY MANY more things you can do to help recycle. Remember that I will be enforcing much on Gaia from now on, hoping to turn this journal entry into a forum on it’s own. ^^ I will be earning gold— and, of course, working for money for cash, to make it easier for the environment— for prizes and such soon. Don’t worry. As long as you contribute, we may be able to save and preserve as much as possible.

CONSERVATION OPERATION!

I turn off the light and sit by my window on a fully charged laptop, so I can plug it back in when it’s low on battery. I take breaks form my computer and turn it off now and then. I use it to the fullest when it has battery and put it to sleep when I am “brb”. And, for the money, I work WHILE I play online. I’m actually working on a huge e-bay project right now, so that helps me a lot. ^^ I will then afford Gaia Cash and lower my expectations online.

I encourage you to do the same. Get active. If it’s snowing, then go outside and play in the snow. If it’s warm, go outside and enjoy the warm water. But most importantly, do something to help our environment while you’re out. Set up a program in your community, maybe set up a dater to plant some trees. This forum/journal topic series will for now and ever be known as Alexandria’s Conservation Operation.

Here are some things you can do to help our environment:
- Recycle your Sunday Newspapers. The all famous weekly newspaper destroys hundreds of thousands of trees for only one distribution. Once you’re done, recycle it! Please! (YOU CAN ALSO read the newspaper at a local coffee shop. This is an example of reusing our environment.)
- Set up a program. Talk to your city council or mayor and see if you can set up an event for tree/flower planting, which will produce more oxygen to counterract some of these harmful events. Two trees can produce enough oxygen for a whole human’s life. You can also score some brownie points from this. Nice thing to put on your resume, huh?
- Be a criminal. I don’t mean this literally- criminals are sometimes forced to be trash pickers. Well, grab a steak every now and then, and pick some trash yourself. Remember that if it’s recyclable, recycle it!
- Sell some NON high-fructose corn syrup lemonade. This means that, when the weather is warm, you can sell some lemonade… BUT it’s not pre-bought. It should be fresh squeezed. This saves money, time, and material from shopping. Remember that when you shop to buy recyclables whenever possible. That’s one of the many things a consumer should always look out for. You can keep the lemons and add it to your grass when it’s cut. Lemons and other old foods are compost, and they help grass become biodegradable in a landfill. Did you know that even biodegradables are becoming nonbiodegradable? There are so many things in our landfills that they are pressuring the earlier items and PRESERVING them. A newspaper was found in a landfill from 1970, not exactly very pretty or with that new scent of printed paper, but still READ able!!
- Wear handmedowns. Donate your old items. Basic examples of reusing! One more shirt handed down means one LESS shirt needs to be made. ^^ I wear old shirts over a cami, to give some girls an idea. To make it ‘fit’, wear a scrunchie/hair tie in the back. XD Boys can wear old shirts whenever, it just looks good on them.
- RIDE YOUR BIKE. I absolutely ADORE riding my bike! Not only is it good for you, it means less gas needs to be burned, saving both natural resources AND the planet (the fumes that come from the gas in your car is contributing to the greenhouse affect).
- USE A CLOTH SHOPPING BAG AND PROTEST AGAINST AQUIFINA/ICE MOUNTAIN/ETC. Plastic shopping bags and water bottles are the top sources of pollution. (Bottled water is tap water, believe it or not, just with a few chemicals in it to make it taste better. Resist the urge, and get a faucet filter. It’s actually MORE safe to drink than bottled water!) Then, use a plastic bottle that you can continually refill. Think of how many bottles of water you’ve drinken throughout your life… Think of how many people there are… Now think about America’s economy and how selfish Aquifina is (just kidding!!). ^^ What would Chuck Norris do? He would use a cloth shopping bag. Just IMAGINE how many you’ve ever handled!! What if you just used one cloth shopping bag, maybe a few, that you can continually put your groceries in? Ha-HA! Yes! That’s an awesome solution.
- Prevent hazardous waste. ^^ There are certain metals that are harmful to our environment. A full list will be included later, but I can tell you that battery juice and methane gas are VERY harmful. If you dispose of your batteries, and they get POKED in a landfill, their juice will ooze all over the place, killing plants… and animals. Now methane gas is created by garbage juice. That’s when there are so many objects in a landfill that they decay and create a juice underneath them. Somewhere in the process, methane is created underground. This is the result of many things, for methan is EXPLOSIVE. (da-da-DUMM) It actually filled and exploded a house once, that was near a landfill. A very harmful gas… Guess how you can prevent it? Recycle. ^^ Remember to dispose of hazardous waste by sending them to specific landfills that bury them and are designed to contain them.
